Well the moment is not far away when SRK will be follwing Aamir’s footsteps of taking up direction, according to good friend Karan.
Karan Johar praising SRK for his acting abilities in My Name Is Khan says, “Time and again I’m blown away by Shah Rukh. How can he think of so many things about his character when he has so much on his plate? He has done monumental research on his autistic character. I was zapped by how much he knew on the subject. And he brought all the knowledge on the sets without any strain. He had written reams of notes on how he wanted to interpret his character. And to him it was no big deal for him. He’s ready to direct a film any time. He will be outstanding at it. His understanding of human nature and emotions can never be matched by me.”
Well it’s good news for all the die hard fans of newbie Imran Khan residing in London, ‘coz he is all set to meet his fans in person on 11th July 2009.

Akshay Kumar is on a high these days ‘coz his illogical movie Kambakht Ishq has managed to open to stupendous box-office collections. So he celebrated by throwing a party for all his friends and specially invited SRK.
Akki says,Yes, I did call up Shah Rukh to invite him. On Sunday evening when Kareena and I suddenly decided to have a party, we decided to invite the entire industry. This wasn’t a party to celebrate our success alone. It was also a party to celebrate the success of New York as much as my film. So apart from me and Kareena, Katrina (Kaif), John (Abraham) and the entire team of New York were the party’s unofficial hosts.”
I personally called up Shah Rukh and all my colleagues to invite them to the party. But since he’s shooting in San Francisco, he won’t be here. I am sure there will be plenty more occasions.”

Sallu Still Unsure About Katrina?
Well this comes from dad Salim Khan’s mouth, he says that Salman should accept Katrina as his wife then only the family will accept her.
Talking about Katrina, Salim says, “Why should Salman’s family accept Katrina as the daughter-in-law; it is Salman who should accept her first as his wife. Our family will not marry Katrina. It is he who has to take a decision.”
When quizzed whether salman is ready to marry Katrina, he says, , “I don’t know, you should ask him (Salman). Many girls have come into Salman’s life. I don’t want to name them as they are married in good families now, but my relationship with all of them has been only ‘Hi uncle, Hello uncle’ and maybe to the extent of ‘Did you have food?’ I didn’t go any further with any of them and that includes Katrina too.”
“Salman’s wedding bells have not rung yet. When he is ready and he tells us, we will welcome the news. But he has to prepare himself mentally first as it is he who has to spend the rest of his life with that special woman.”
Well going by Salim’s way of words, it looks like the Khan family has not yet accepted Katrina as Salman’s ideal wife.

Bollywood Actors Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan managed to assure the world that they are still together after Katrina appeared on the latest episode of Dus Ka Dum and
While on the one hand, it seems things are going well for the couple, Katrina Kaif recently decided that she will spend her 25th birthday without her beau.
Afterall, it isn’t just Kat’s 25th anniversary, but also the first anniversary of the Salman-SRK fight that had taken place during Katrina’s birthday celebrations.
Some might remember that an inebriated SalmanKhan asked SRK to come on his show Dus Ka Dum, and SRK had refused, leading to a heated exchange of words and reportedly also some violence.
It was Katrina and SRK’s wife Gauri who had to intervene. Pictures of a crying Katrina were all over the media.
As a result, this year, Katrina is looking for some peace and quiet. She was quoted saying she is really looking forward to going home – London – to be with her family.
She said it will be the first time in nine years that her entire family, that is, her parents and their eight children will be together.
Katrina Kaif says she has been working extra hard to be able to make time for this vacation, or as she call it, this necessity.
Actress Priyanka Chopra recently demanded a high pay of 5 crore for Sanjay Gadhvi’s 7 Days In Paris opposite Imran Khan. Her demands are increased may be because her current recognition at various award functions and as she has managed to grab the amount of Rs. 3 crore from Yash Raj Films for Pyaar Impossible along with Uday Chopra. The director and producer were already in trouble when Katrina left the film disapproving the script. However they got shocked more when Priyanka demanded such a high sum. Eventually she lost the film.
A source said, “The producers were shocked when Priyanka asked for such a huge fee. They tried to reason with her but she refused to relent.”
However official spokesperson of Priyanka said, “Priyanka has not been offered Gadhvi’s film.”
Meanwhile the producer may rework on the script and make a final call to Katrina when done with the script. Katrina had left the film because the director had made changes into the script after insistence of actor Imran Khan, with which she was not satisfied. They are also in talks with South actresses Asin and Genelia D’Souza for the same. Shooting for the film will start in early next month.
New York is amongst the finest films produced by Yash Raj. At the box office, there's no stopping this one. Go for it now.......Myth: New York is about 9/11.
Fact: It's not. But it reflects the mood that's prevalent across the globe, post 9/11. The world is divided today. No two opinions on that!
Myth: New York bears a striking similarity to KHUDA KAY LIYE.
Fact: Nope. KHUDA KAY LIYE and New York may belong to the same family, of an innocent person being picked up for questioning after the WTC catastrophe, but the similarities end there. In fact, KHUDA KAY LIYE and New York are as diverse as chalk and cheese.
New York, helmed by Kabir Khan, attempts to be as real as possible. A tale of friendship, with terrorism as the wallpaper, New York hits you like a ton of bricks at several points in the narrative. In fact, there was a possibility that New York may turn out to be a dry experience, a documentary perhaps, but the drama is so well structured and so gripping that you get sucked into the world of Sam, Omar and Maya from its inception.
New York is a triumph for Kabir Khan, who deserves distinction marks for handling the subject with remarkable maturity. Also, this film should be a turning point for John, Katrina and Neil. More on that later...
The verdict? New York is, without doubt, one of the finest films produced by this premier production house, Yash Raj. Grab a ticket today!
Omar (Neil Nitin Mukesh) has gone abroad for the first time in his life and soon enough, he begins to see and love America through the eyes of his American friends, Sam (John Abraham) and Maya (Katrina Kaif). But an incident changes the world round them.
At this point enters Agent Roshan (Irrfan), an FBI agent, who sets the ball rolling for a series of tumultuous events that turn the lives of these friends upside down.
New York affects you like no other Hindi film has done so far (on 9/11). In fact, there are portions that give you goose bumps, especially towards the second half of the film, when John recounts his past.
One of the reasons why New York works is because not once does Kabir Khan borrow from the past or tilt towards predictable stuff. You just can't guess what and where the story is headed and what the culmination would be.
The director and his team of writers establish the plot and characters beautifully, but the real action is reserved for the second half. The nightmarish experience that John undergoes is disturbing, but lifts the film several notches up.
But New York has its share of loose ends. The film dips in the second hour. It tends to gets lengthy before it reaches a powerful, brilliantly executed climax. Also, a few sequences only add to the length of the film, which could've been curtailed in the writing stage itself.
Director Kabir Khan picks up a real incident -- innocent civilians being suspected as terrorists, soon after 9/11 -- and weaves a brilliant tale around it. The screenplay is its biggest star, without a doubt. Given the fact that New York isn't one of those routine masala fares, Kabir has injected songs only when required. Cinematography is striking.
Now here's another surprise. John, Katrina and Neil, all actors, deliver their career-best performance. If the first half belongs to Neil, John takes over the second hour completely. John is superb when he recalls the past.
You can feel his pain, that effective is his performance. Also, note his expressions towards the end. This is a different John, for sure. Just one word for his performance -- fabulous!
Neil was remarkable in JOHNNY GADDAAR, but disappointed in AA DEKHEN ZARA. Fortunately, he's in top form this time around. Katrina gives you the biggest surprise.
Known for her glamour roles, Katrina proves that she can deliver if the director and writer offer her a role of substance. She's outstanding. In fact, people will see a new, different Katrina this time. Irrfan is, as always, first-rate.
On the whole, New York is amongst the finest films produced by Yash Raj. At the box office, there's no stopping this one. Go for it now!
